Valorant Skin Rarity & Pricing Explained

Valorant features numerous skin collections that you can acquire from different methods such as the store, night market, agent gear, battle pass etc. The skins usually have an icon representing their rarity. If you’re wondering what that icon meant then keep reading as I will break down each rarity, it’s price and what it means.

First off, here’s all the rarities that are present in the game.

  • Select

Night Market

The night market is a limited time store that shows up periodically for a few weeks. It contains 6 random weapon skins at a discounted rate (from 10% to 49%). The offers are a random variety of Select, Deluxe and Premium weapon skins and knife skins. There’s at least 2 offers either containing a knife skin or a premium edition skin.

Valorant Skin Rarity Explained:

I will now discuss each of the rarities individually. Keep in mind that some of the skins from a rarity may include a feature that is common in other collections (variants, animations etc), this is due to Riot classifying the rarities by price range and not what features they have.

Cost to purchase Valorant Points.

Select Edition Tier

The skins classified as Select edition are the most basic skins that you will find in the game, Riot has these skins as a way to make weapon skins accessible for everyone. You can find these skins in the Battle Pass and also in the store starting from 875 Valorant Points (VP). Most of these skins do not have anything fancy and are the most basic skins that you will find in the game.

Deluxe Edition Tier

Altitude Collection

The Deluxe edition skins are a step above the Select edition. They are still not that fancy however, they are a bit better looking than the previous rarity. The price for these skins start at 1,275 VP and sometimes there may be deluxe skins released in the Battle Pass as well. Some collections in the deluxe edition tier also include a few upgrades such as different color variants or animations but nothing too fancy.

Premium Edition Tier

Magepunk Collection

Premium skins are where the magic starts to happen, even though it is in the middle of the rarity chart; it starts to introduce some more fancy things that you would need apart from just a cool looking skin. These skins do start at a hefty price tag of 1,775 VP however, there are some skins that would come with a variation of multiple upgrades such as different animations, color variants, kill banners or finishers.

Some collections may have 2 upgrades however, there are still some collections that come with 4 upgrades for each gun.

Exclusive Edition Tier

RGX 11z Pro Collection

The exclusive edition skins are technically the best skins that you can have as apart from looking flashy; they would feature different animations, color variants, kill sound effects and much more. A great example would be the RGX 11z Pro Collection which can be upgraded to make each variant actually change colors when inspecting it.

These skins do cost a lot though as their prices may vary from 2,175 - 2,675 VP per skin depending on the collection. Also, since these skins do not show up in the market the only way to purchase these skins are when they are featured on the store as a bundle or individual skins that are offered to the players in the store daily.

Ultra Edition Tier

These are some of the rarest skins that you will find in the game as there aren’t that many ultra edition collections that are released. These skins will make you stand out from the crowd as they feature multiple features such as different animations, models, and may even include voices so you may even have a gun that would talk to you or play music when inspecting or reloading.

These skins are worth alot and could cost you 2,475 - 2,975 VP per individual skin and just like the previous tier, you can not get it from the night market so you have to rely it on either being featured again sometime in the future or checking the store daily to have it offered to you.
