Lethal Company: Moons Guide, Layout & Spawn Rate

  • The article has been updated for Version 60 with the adjusted spawn rates including the Maneater entity.

Lethal Company has numerous moons that you can visit, each having their own identity and atmosphere to separate from the others. As of now the layout for each moon remains the same with the only difference being the interior layout of the maps. The terminal will show you the list of moons that you can visit along with any weather effects that they may have.

The moons are broken up in different tiers in terms of their difficulty. The tier 1 and 2 moons do not cost any money to travel while Tier 3 moons cost credits to travel to. The Tier 3 moons usually contain more lucrative loot but, there is a higher chance of dangerous creatures that may spawn such as the ghost girl or the jester. The risk of visiting these moons can pay off if you manage to get some loot and safely make it back out alive.

I will be going through each map individually below:

Moons List

  • The Company Building

Tier 1 Moons:

  • Experimentation

  • Assurance

  • Vow

Tier 2 Moons:

  • Offense

  • March

  • Adamance

Tier 3 Moons:

  • Rend (Cost: 550)

  • Dine (Cost: 600)

  • Titan (Cost: 700)

Unlisted Moons:

  • Embrion (Cost: 150)

  • Artifice (Cost: 1500)

The unlisted moons do not show up on the terminal however, there are clues to those moons in the bestiary and in the shack on Adamance.

Each moon usually has a map layout that will be the common interior layout for that moon however, the other interiors have a rare chance of appearing as well. The interior layouts at the moment are Factory, Mineshaft and Mansion.

Note: Even though that there is a higher chance for rare spawns such as the Ghost Girl, The Jester on Tier 3 moons or the mansion interior. They can still appear on all the other moons by chance and do not have a particular spawn rate. These rare spawns can show up on any moon without taking up the power count of the moon if not listed in the spawn list.

List of all the moons along with any weather effects they may have.

Creature Spawn Rate

Keep in mind that each moon has a limit of how many creatures may spawn indoors and outdoors. Each creature has a set value (called power) that they take up on the map when spawning, each moon has a power cap limiting the monsters that spawn on the map. Killing a creature may replace them with another creature according to the power that is left for the map.

The creatures spawn under 3 different categories:

  • Outside daytime creatures

    1. Circuit Bees

    2. Manticoils

    3. Roaming Locusts

    4. Tulip Snake

  • Outside night-time creatures

    1. Earth Leviathan

Each category has their own power limit for each map as well as each creature have a set amount of power that they use to spawn.

For each map I will be sharing its layout, here is a legend to help you with it:

Map Legend:

  • Green Main Door - The main entrance to the interior.

  • Fire Icon - Fire Exits.

  • Circular Blades - Location where the drop pod lands with the items you purchase.

  • Yellow Ladders - Location of the ladders

  • Ship Front - Where the front of the ship is facing, remember that you exit from the ship doors at the back.

  • Red Line - Path to the fire exit.

Experimentation

Entrances: 2 (Main Entrance + 1 Fire Exit)

Hazard Level: B

One of the most basic maps that you will probably be playing a lot in the start as it is a really good map to get started with. It’s a pretty open and small map, and the entrance is in a straight line from the ship and the fire exit is right beside it and not hard to find. You can also just walk off the train tracks without taking any fall damage instead of having to use the ladder to get down to the surface. You can drop the loot from the fire exit by standing on the railing and then dropping the loot to the ground which can save some time when transporting loot back to the ship.

There is a huge shutter in front of the main entrance and I have noticed that sometimes you may hear a loud noise followed by the shutter closing slightly. If it happens enough times then the shutter may close completely which would mean that you would need to use the fire exit instead. I would suggest leaving your loot outside of the shutter in order to prevent any loot being shut off.

A half-closed shutter.

A rather conventional layout than the other Tier 1 maps, you need to traverse around a cliff and then climb a ladder to get to the main entrance. The fire exit is on the other side of the map which you can reach by climbing a pretty tall ladder and then jumping on to the pipe. The purchase pod requires some traversal as well which can be a bit annoying and if you’re a bit slow then it can leave before you reach it.

You can carry loot from the fire exit through the pipe and drop it in front of the ship which would reduce the time needed to bring it back to the ship, you can climb back onto the pipe by just climbing to the end of the map and then jumping to the pipe.

A forest map which can be pretty difficult as a tier 1 map later on in the day. The entrances are not that hard, there’s 2 bridges to get to the main entrance however the bridge close to it can break. The edge of the maps have water so make sure to not fall off the map. The fire exit is underneath the bridge which can be easily used however would require you to run all the way to the end of the ditch to get back up. The map also features forest giants so make sure to keep an eye out for them.

Tier 2 Moons

Offense

Entrances: 2 (Main Entrance + 1 Fire Exit)

Hazard Level: B

The map is pretty similar to Assurance in terms of layout and has the same visual appearance. However, as it is a tier 2 map the map can be a bit much harder to traverse and the length to the entrances are also a bit longer. In order to get to the main entrance you need to climb up a hill by going around it from the landing point of the ship. You can either jump on the yellow platform or just walk to the right of it and just reach the main entrance without having to do any jumps.

The fire exit can be a pretty hard entrance to reach normally, one way to reach it is by jumping out of the ship before it has landed and land on the huge pipeline. Otherwise, you need an extension ladder to get to the fire exit. The pipeline directly goes from the fire exit to the ship, getting down from the pipe can be pretty hard, either you can risk some damage and just fall off the pipe near the ship or you can try to jump near a cliff and then slowly traverse down it like you can do in Skyrim. If you want to efficiently get the loot to the ship then you can drop the loot down near the ship from the pipe and keep running back to the fire exit without getting off from the pipe.

March

Entrances: 4 (Main Entrance + 3 Fire Exits)

Hazard Level: B

Another forest based map but what makes it unique is that it has 3 different fire exits which are spread out as well, you can easily go towards any direction from the ship and find an entrance. The fire exit that is at the front of the ship is behind a hill so you need to go around it to find it. The south-east fire exit is at the bottom of a hill so just spot the white concrete building for way to the fire exit.

The map also features water and mudholes to make sure to not fall into any as they are the same as quicksand or pools of water. You will also find forest giants spawning in the map and a bunch of bee hives. They can also technically spawn underneath the ship as well and can clip through the ship.

This is the only map that only has the default facility interior layout and the mansion layout will not show up on the moon.

A mud-hole that can be spotted by the different color of the ground.

Adamance

Entrances: 4 (Main Entrance + 3 Fire Exits)

Hazard Level: B

Adamance is the first moon to be released ever since the games early access release in October 2023. It is a forest map like Vow and March however, it has a different layout to those moons consisting of numerous hills that players need to traverse. The map also features quicksand like March so keep an eye out for any black spots on the ground.

The main entrance is right opposite to the ships entrance but you need to climb the hills to get to it, this can be an issue when going for late runs as the narrow paths might be guarded by monsters and may require you to take different path instead.

You can find two bridges on the moon; the long bridge acts like the bridge in Vow which can break based on the weight on it, the short bridge is always use-based so you can step on the bridge 3 times before it breaks, jumping on the bridge counts as a use as well. There is also a small shack on the exterior of the moon just like Rend however, this one is locked and needs to be unlocked as it contains a clue regarding an unlisted moon.

Tier 3 Moons

Rend

Cost: 550

Entrances: 2 (Main Entrance + 1 Fire Exit)

Hazard Level: A

A dark map due to the blizzard, you can follow the light paths to find the way towards the main entrance and the ship. The moon has a fire exit which is hard to spot and it requires you to divert off the path and then find a small gap between two cliffs. When you traverse across the passageway you’ll find the fire exit hidden on your left, covered in snow.

The moon also has a high chance to feature the mansion instead of the facility as the interior (~98% chance for mansion interior) and could have a higher spawn chance of the little red girl.

Titan

Cost: 700

Entrances: 2 (Main Entrance + 1 Fire Exit)

Hazard Level: S+

Titan is one of the best maps for experienced players as the layout is fairly simple and you can get some of the most lucrative loot on the moon. The entrances are next to each other and really close to the ship however, you would need to climb the staircase to reach them. The upside to this is that you can drop the loot at the bottom making it easier to send the loot back to the ship. The map has a tendency to be eclipsed most of the time but it needs to be confirmed if its a higher chance of it to be eclipsed than the others.

As it is a tier 3 moon, it has a price to visit and it is the most expensive moon to travel to. It can also be the most dangerous moon with many dangerous creatures including rare creatures that can spawn inside the facility and also have the monsters outside that can easily camp the ship. Keep in mind that the monsters can climb the stairs so it can be pretty hard as the day goes on to be able to navigate across the monsters.

Titan has one of the biggest indoor maps of all the moons which allows you to collect the most amount of scrap however, venturing further into the interior may cause you to get lost easily. Unlike the other tier 3 moons, titan usually contains the interior facility but has a high chance (~18.6%) of spawning the mansion interior.

Secret Moons

Embrion

Cost: 150

Entrances: 2 (Main Entrance + 1 Fire Exit)

Hazard Level: S

Embrion is one of secret moons that was added to the game in the V50 update. It is not listed in the moons section of the terminal and can be found in the bestiary log for the Old Bird.

It is a pretty small map with numerous rocks and hills to navigate to make it to the main entrance. The main entrance is located straight ahead from the front of the ship while the only fire exit on the map is to the north-east of the ship or the east from the main entrance. The fire exit is concealed inside a ring of rocks which can make it difficult to locate for those unaware.

It is a pretty low reward and high risk moon as the loot isn’t that great. It has a high power count for nighttime creatures and has a high spawn rate for Old Birds which can make it difficult to traverse the moon.

Creature Spawn Rate on Embrion

The creatures that may spawn on Embrion are broken down for each category below:

  • The maximum power count for Daytime creatures on Embrion is 20. However, no creatures spawn at the moment as the Manticoil spawn was removed in the V55 update.

  • The maximum power count for Nighttime creatures on Embrion is 70.

Artifice

Cost: 1500

Entrances: 2 (Main Entrance + 1 Fire Exit)

Hazard Level: S++

Artifice is the second secret moon that was added to the game in the V50 update alongside Embrion. It is not listed in the moons section of the terminal and is only referenced in the shack on the Adamance moon. It is the only accessible moon in the game right now with a S++ hazard level rating. It also has the highest cost to visit with a hefty price of 1500 credits to orbit the moon.

It is a small map resembling a facility some sort, there are 4 warehouses where you can take shelter, however one of them is inaccessible. All of the warehouses have a switch inside to open or close their garage door. One of the furthest warehouse is filled with fog which can make it difficult to navigate through. To enter the fogged warehouse, you either must enter through its back door, the adjacent warehouse's catwalk, or the stairs around the side.

The warehouses can be used to hide against the creatures outside or if they spawn inside then you can just trap them inside with the help of the interactable switches for the garage doors. There is also a small shack to the north of the map where you can conveniently hide.

The main entrance is straight in front of the warehouses. The fire exit can be found to the left of the entrance and isn’t that hard to miss. The ship spawns on a hill relative to the main outdoor area, which make it hard to reach the ship without running uphill, which could be dangerous with any creatures nearby. There is also a small hut near the fire exit with a damaged wall that can be used to enter/leave the fenced off area if the main route in is too risky, although this route can be far slower than the usual path.

The moon has the highest loot value on average which makes up for the cost to visit the moon.
