Valorant: Outlaw Guide & Statistics

Riot Games has just introduced a new weapon to Valorant in Episode 8 Act 1 (January 2024) called the Outlaw. It is a double-barrel break-action sniper rifle. This is the first gun to be added to Valorant since the game came out.

The weapon is an another sniper option that sits between the Marshal and the Operator. It costs 2400 creds and has a single zoom option like the Marshal.

It can kill a person with no armor or light armor in a single shot (unless it’s a leg shot to a person with light armor), however it takes two bullets to kill someone with heavy armor (unless its a headshot). This sounds like it can be a pretty good sniper but keep in mind that it is a double barrel sniper rifle so you only have 2 bullets before having to reload.

Outlaw Statistics

I will be listing down some of the statistics of the outlaw and other general information about the weapon to help you know more about the new addition to the game. You can see the weapon statistics of the outlaw below:

Reload Speed

2.3 seconds (1 bullet)

3.8 seconds (2 bullets)

Zoom

3.5x

As you can see from the stats above; reloading a single bullet would take 2.3 seconds however, reloading both would take 3.8 seconds, which is pretty much the same as reloading an operator (3.7 seconds). There is also a different reload animation if you need to reload both bullets so your enemies would be able to hear that you are reloading both bullets and would be vulnerable for a longer period of time.

Unlike the other sniper rifles, the outlaw will not kick you out of ADS (Alt Fire) after you fire a shot, allowing you to stay zoomed in after firing for a follow-up shot if needed. Otherwise, it’s suggested that you reload in order to not have to perform the full reload.

Outlaw vs Other Snipers Comparison

Here you can find the Outlaw weapon statistics compared to the other rifles such as the Guardian, Marshal and Operator.

Weapon Outlaw Guardian Marshal Operator

Reload Time 3.8s if reloading both shells, 2.3 if just 1 shell. 2.5s 0.5s per bullet 2.5s from empty 3.7s
Reloading Mechanics 1 at a time Magazine reloads all 12 at once. 1 at a time. You can reload between shots with no RoF lost. Magazine reload all 5 at once.

Some things to note is that the Outlaw has no penalty for repeated firing (i.e firing both shots back to back has the same accuracy). You also do not get kicked out of ADS after firing and it follows the same movement rules as the other snipers.

Meanwhile the Guardian also does not get kicked out of ADS after firing. However, it uses the rifle movement accuracy rules. +0.8 spread when crouched, +2 when walking, +5 for running and +10 when airborne. It also gains spread with repeated shots. Unlike the dedicated snipers, these shots have recoil to compensate for the much higher Rate of Fire (RoF).

Outlaw Usage Comparison

As of February 2025, The outlaw has become a staple pick-up in pro play. In the last 90 days, the Outlaw has been picked up more times than the Marshal and you can see a usage comparison versus the other sniper riles (& Guardian) below:

Weapon Pick Rate Kills
Operator 3.84% 9,244
Guardian 4.31% 8,183
Outlaw 1.47% 3.655
Marshal 0.46% 1,084

Data taken from TheSpike; weapon stats are from the professional matches played in the last 90 days.

The outlaw can be a good pick-up if you know that the enemy team are not buying heavy armor due to their weak economy or prioritizing other equipment over heavy armor as it will allow you to take them in a single shot. It can still be an annoyance to players with heavy armor as its 140 base damage will leave them vulnerable to pretty much everything else if they do not have any heals in the team.

The outlaw can easily force the enemies to actually spend the extra 600 creds on heavy armor after which point you can switch to the rifles or the operator. You can still stick with the outlaw to deal chip damage to the enemy team and leave each enemy you hit with low HP.
