The Finals: Ranked Tournament System And Leaderboards

The Finals has just been released unexpectedly after a successful beta phase. The game comes with multiple quick-modes and also a Tournament mode which includes Normal and Ranked Tournaments.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Ranked Tournament in The Finals, including how the game mode works, the different ranks and the available leaderboards for each season.

Note: As of season 3, Embark Studios have overhauled the Ranked League system by changing the ranked game mode to Terminal Attack which is a 5v5, single-life, attack-and-defend game mode in which contestants take turns delivering and using the decryption key to the terminal.

Ranked Tournament Requirements:

To be able to play Ranked Tournaments in The Finals, you would first need to play 60 rounds of the game in order to unlock the Ranked Tournament game mode. You can play some casual in the start to unlock the regular tournament and play that to unlock ranked faster as you will be able to play up to 3 rounds each tournament if you are able to make it to the final round.

Ranked Tournament System

As of Season 3, the ranked mode has been changed to Ranked Terminal Attack. Terminal Attack is pretty similar to the rest of the competitive game mode in other games such as Counter-Strike or Search & Destroy in Call of Duty.

There will be 10 players divided into teams of 2 and would take turns attacking or defending the terminal, you need to win 7 rounds in order to secure the victory. There is no healing, revives or gadgets recharging so you need to be cautious on how you approach the game as a whole, however you can still regenerate your health up to a 100.

Game Rules:

  • Length: Up to 13 rounds (Win 7 out of 13 rounds)

  • League Progression: Yes

  • Limited Health Regeneration: Up to 100 HP

  • No Revives

  • No Respawns

  • Healing Beam and Defibrillator are not allowed and replaced by other equipment.

  • Teams switch side after certain rounds.

Ranked Tournament Ranks

There’s a total of 6 leagues or ranks that you need to climb in order to reach the top of The Finals. Each league has four tiers that you need to go through in order to reach the next league. Season 3 introduced a new league called the Ruby League, this league is exclusive to the top 500 players on the leaderboard at the end of each season.

At the start of the season each player would need to play 8 placements matches to determine their starting rank after which they will climb the ranks by earning Fame Points (now called Rank Score), each tier has a set amount of Rank Score (RS) that needs to be earned in order to be promoted to that tier. You receive Rank Score depending on your rankings and on which round you were knocked out, the amount is also dependent on your rank and will increase the higher ranked you are.

Here’s a breakdown of all the Leagues in The Finals Ranked Tournament and the required Rank Score (RS) to reach each specific tier:

  • Bronze

    • Bronze 4 (0 RS)

    • Bronze 3 (2,500 RS)

    • Bronze 2 (5,000 RS)

    • Bronze 1 (7,500 RS)

  • Silver

    • Silver 4 (10,000 RS)

    • Silver 3 (12,500 RS)

    • Silver 2 (15,000 RS)

    • Silver 1 (17,500 RS)

  • Gold

    • Gold 4 (20,000 RS)

    • Gold 3 (22,500 RS)

    • Gold 2 (25,000 RS)

    • Gold 1 (27,500 RS)

  • Platinum

    • Platinum 4 (30,000 RS)

    • Platinum 3 (32,500 RS)

  • Diamond

The amount of RS you can earn in a season is not capped and the top 500 players with the most Rank Score are placed in the Ruby League which contains additional rewards at the end of the season. Each league that you achieve unlocks a new reward that you will receive once the season ends.

World Tour

World Tour is a casual game mode in The Finals which also contains ranks and has frequent events featuring different rules and modes. You obtain Win Points based on your tournament placements, from which you would climb the ranks. The ranks go from Bronze to Emerald and you earn World Tour badges and rewards according to your rank. You do not lose any points if you lose so you can only progress upwards without having to worry about losing your rank.

The ranks in World Tour and the Win Points (WP) required for each rank are as follows:

  • Knocked out in round one - 0 Win Points

  • Knocked out in round two - 6 Win Points

  • Lose the final round - 14 Win Points

  • Win the final round - 25 Win Points

Ranked Tournament Leaderboards

Update: Embark Studios have moved their leaderboards to a new domain and the previous season leaderboards can not be accessed now. (Closed Beta till Season 2)

There is also a ranked leaderboard that showcases the top 1000 players in The Finals based on the amount of Fame Points that they have. The leaderboard keeps track of the players level, the total cash amount cashed out and their FP.
