Crownfall Event Guide: Tokens, Store and More

The Crownfall update has just been released for Dota 2. The update includes new Arcanas, a new event with multiple chapters, added lore and storyline for Vengeful Spirit & Skywrath Mage and a whole lot more. The event is split into 4 different acts that will be gradually released.

• Act 1: The Markets of Midgate (Available Now)

• Act 2: The Deserts of Druud (Released 23 May, 2024)

• Act 3: The Frosts of Icewrack (Unlocked after Act 2 - July 9th, 2024)

• Act 4: The Spires of Skywrath (Unlocked after Act 3 - November 8th, 2024)

The event will end on the 15th of January, 2025 (Update: The event got extended till 6th of Feb, 2025) so make sure to complete the event beforehand and redeem any rewards that you haven’t as all the items related to Crownfall such as Crownfall coins, Candyworks rerolls, Candyworks candy will expire once the event concludes.

In this article we will be explaining how the whole event works and how to progress in the event to obtain the rewards.

The event features a variety of quests that you need to complete in order to progress in the storyline and unlock rewards. Rewards range from Crownfall store coins to treasures and more. Apart from the main quest line which is free for all players, there's also two optional story lines included in each act (The Pathfinder pack) that players can purchase in order to obtain additional rewards in that act.

Crownfall Store

The crownfall store contains multiple items that you can purchase. This includes the arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, two different treasures containing sets for multiple heroes, a bundle of bonus items to help you out with the quest lines and a bonus content pack that unlocks bonus storylines and rewards for a certain act.

Crownfall Store Coins

Crownfall store coins can be obtained throughout the event.

Crownfall coins are a currency that you can obtain during the course of the quest line; by collecting 10 coins you can obtain a ~$7.99 discount on the Crownfall store on any item that costs more than $7.99. The discount varies per region, this allows you to purchase the pathfinder pack for half the price or obtain a significant discount on the new arcanas that are featured in the event. The coins discount does not stack.

Tokens

The hero tab shows the token that a hero gives.

In order to progress in the quest line, you are required to use tokens to unlock the next quest. The tokens consist of a hero's role or certain characteristics. Each hero has 2-3 tokens assigned to them, you will receive those tokens from winning a game while losing a game gives you one of those tokens randomly (Turbo games provides 2 random tokens out of the 3 for a win and 0 tokens for a loss).

You can review each heroes tokens by hovering them on the “Heroes” tab or by selecting the “Crownfall” filter during the pick phase to highlight the heroes that contain the tokens required for the next quest.

Keep in mind that the tokens are locked to each act and not carry over to the next act, as each act has their own set of tokens. You would need to select which act you need to earn the tokens for by activating that act in the main menu.

You can also use the trader to trade your tokens and scraps for tokens that you may need. In Act 2 and later acts the trader either takes any 4 tokens or 6 scrap tokens (which can be acquired by just playing games) for your chosen token. Each act has a different trader that have different trades available.

Candy Caravan

Once you complete the quest “The Market - 3” on Act, you will unlock the Candyworks Caravan which allows you to trade your candy sacks in exchange for cosmetics which includes a rare chance of containing an arcana as well. You can re-roll the choices that you have by using a reroll token, you can obtain up-to 10 rerolls per week by winning games.

Each act has a caravan that you can visit to upgrade the caravan and receive extra perks. The upgrades are:

• Act 1 - 3 free candies per candyworks caravan visited.

• Act 2 - Unlock 3rd reroll item shelf.

• Act 3 - Unlock 4th slot for weekly candy exchange.

• Act 4 - Unlock 10 extra candy slots (from 20 slots to 30).

It is viable to get the upgrades before using your rerolls, like the act 2 upgrade would give you 3 item choices per reroll instead of 2, which provides more chances to roll a rare item.
